Recently our Melbourne team had the opportunity to judge the ArtBoy vs FanBoy – Fairytales and Fables exhibition at ArtBoy Gallery in Prahran. It was quite a task as there were so many amazing works on display. After much discussion we came to an artist whose work we felt was truly worthy to be featured on the CURVY site and to receive one of our books. His name is Lachlan Young (aka Thirty60).
What really caught our attention with Lachlan’s work is the organic nature of it. Using ink in a very simplistic form on a framed stone surface to create images representing lesser known fairytales and fables.
Interested in drawing, art and design from an early age, Lachlan has been lucky enough to continue this interest throughout his professional career. By day is a graphic designer, running the design studio, 3 Sided Square with a few friends who he studied Visual Communication with. By night, his an artist creating images that he describes as a fusion between street and fine art.
