SO:ME Space is a retail concept bringing together the best emerging and established designers in an innovative environment for the purpose of brand growth, experimentation and development. Located within the South Melbourne Market the unique position and design of the retail space makes it a great place for designers at all stages of their career to create a pop-up shop to call their very own for a few weeks.
Two designers who have done just that and have created a pop-up shop together are resin jewelery maker Megan Dell of Ruby & Sage and Indie Ladan from the organic cotton fashion label Monolog.
The combination of the textures and colours of their pieces makes for a beautiful browsing experience when walking through their space. Both Megan and Indie man the pop up shop and they don’t mind talking about their creative practices and discussing their work. Giving something more than just the regular retail experience, but one that allows you to find out first hand that little bit more about the designer and what they’ve created.
As an extra special treat Monolog are having a little celebration to mark the release of their 2012 range on Saturday 5 May from 3pm at their pop up shop. There will be free drinks, music and special discounts on all purchases.
They’ll be at SO:ME Space until Sunday 13 May, open Wednesdays and Fridays 9am to 5pm, then Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 4pm.
SO:ME Space is located within the South Melbourne Market, located on the corner of Coventry and Cecil Street in South Melbourne. For more information about the pop up shops or maybe you too would like to have a pop up shop of your very own at SO:ME Space, visit their website www.somespace.com.au.
