Erin Flannery is a self taught artist who has a tendency to lean towards all things black, white, weird, wonderful and fashion related. She transforms her daily observations of the fashion world into works of art, whilst finding beauty in new and unusual places. The translation of her amusement with the at times ridiculousness of the fashion industry through her black and white figures on linen are edgy and elegant.
I like to take most inspiration from my surroundings rather than looking at other artists work. As far as subject matter goes I gather a lot of inspiration from the fashion world, studying trends and poses. I have always loved fashion and always been amused by people who follow it religiously so it seemed obvious to take that and turn it into art.
