Natassja Brodie followed her heart and was drawn to move to Melbourne almost 3 years ago by her enthusiasm for art. Since moving to Melbourne she now owns her own freelance business, where she specialises in Character Design and Illustration. In addition to this she also works as a 2D and 3D Artist for a Video Game company.
Her works are inspired by her dreams, sleeplessness and love for characters. Which explains why at times her art has been described as “quirky, bold, colourful and a little unsettling”. They remind us of sleepless summer nights in the city where you’d rather some where else, a little bit of a modern take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Most of her work is created digitally, however more recently Natassja has been starting to work with acrylic paints on canvas, salvaged pre-loved skateboard decks, used snowboards and other recycled objects. It will be interesting to see what affect the change of medium will have on her work overall in the the future.
