From as early as I can recall, I remember admiring the artwork that graced the front of album covers. Holding records that were worth more than what I earned in a week. Now several years on, not much has changed, I still get butterflies when I see a well designed album cover and even more so when it sounds just as good.
In the case of Perilous Times the latest album by The Nomad the saying don’t judge a book (in this case album) by it’s cover need not apply. It’s sultry performance and throbbing, reggae infused dubstep rhythms, pulls on the strings of your soul as equally if not more than the cover artwork that contains it. Credit for this soul inspiring album cover artwork, which plays the important role of introducing the feel for the album, goes to Francis Cheetham from Resn in New Zealand. Francis has also worked on the artwork for the last three covers for The Nomad.
Though it maybe an album to be known as by being by one artist the whole process has been a 2 year collaboration between a range of different people in different creative fields. Whose work, skill and talent has been pulled together to create not only a good looking album but a fine sounding one of that.
